Today, I am adding more layers to the dark sky in the distance. This is done with a mixture of French Ultramarine Blue and Permanent Alizarin Crimson with a little bit of Titanium White. I am also enhancing the clouds near the horizon line and giving more definition to the upper structure of the bridge. The great thing about painting is that I can enhance certain areas of the composition to convey a sense of atmosphere and sense of place without recreating the reference photograph.
